From fascinators to welding and shoe design to silversmithing, our beginners guide to Accessories, Footwear and Jewellery short courses presents you with a fantastic number of courses where you can join as an absolute beginner.

Have you always dreamt of learning the skills to make your own jewellery, want to go from sewing a button to making your very own hat? Let’s make those awesome ideas a reality as you take your very first steps.

Introduction to Metalwork and Welding - you will be introduced to metalwork and welding in which you will learn many of the practical skills and techniques associated with the fabrication of steel sculpture.

Introduction to Silversmithing - offers an exciting introduction to the craft of silversmithing where you can design and make 3D objects. During the course you will work on a set project with silver to produce a beautiful piece of work.

Jewellery Making for Beginners - you will learn simple and practical techniques, with an emphasis on developing confidence. The course covers piercing, filing, soldering, simple fittings and simple finishes.

Millinery Workshop - you will make two (or possible more) of your own hats to take away, using cosy wool felt and stunning sinamay, with industry tips from an expert throughout.

Shoe Design for Beginners - whilst learning fundamental shoe design techniques, you will create a three dimensional mock up of your chosen design. This will be part of a mini design project that will illustrate the interactive nature of footwear design and fashion.
