UAL Study Abroad Awards
4 awards of £1,500 each
UAL Study Abroad awards are available to students on Integrated and Semester programmes.
We are looking for students who will create social media content and blogs of their time with us as a Study Abroad Student. In exchange, you will receive one award of £1,500.
How to apply
We are looking for a visual project that encapsulates the spirit of your home institution. It must be in video format and a maximum of 90 seconds long. It must be something you would consider suitable for social media, with a 200 word supporting statement. Imagine it being presented on our Instagram account.
Entries should be as creative as possible and must meet the brief above.
Please email your entry to email@example.com with your full name and the course title in the subject line.
Successful applicants will:
- receive one award of £1,500
- need to write at least one story/blog post during their time at UAL
- do a student takeover on our Instagram
- help us provide fun content.
30 June 2023 for the Autumn term.
30 November 2023 for the Spring term.
Eligibility to apply
You must have been accepted onto an integrated or semester Study Abroad programme at UAL and be enrolled on an undergraduate degree programme outside the UK.
Summer Study Abroad Award
We offer one Summer Study Abroad Award, a tuition fee waiver for a 3 week course.
To apply for the Summer Study Abroad Award, you must hold an offer for 1 of our 3 week Summer Study Abroad 2023 courses. To make your application, complete one of the following:
Create a video that would be suitable for social media (no longer than 90 seconds), with a 200 word supporting statement:
Why I want to study a Summer Study Abroad course at UAL and what I hope to achieve.
Be as creative as you like! Imagine it being presented on our Instagram Account.
Successful applicants will:

- Help us provide fun content.
Summer 2023 applications are now closed.
1 April 2024 for Summer 2024 courses.
To be eligible, you must be 18 years or older, hold an offer to join 1 of our 3 week Summer Study Abroad courses, and be enrolled on an undergraduate degree programme outside the UK.
- The award covers the tuition-fee only and depends on you successfully enrolling for the course. Our cancellation policy still applies.
US financial aid and funding
All 6 Colleges of University of the Arts London are Title IV Registered. Eligible students who enrol on a semester programme here can continue to take out financial aid via their home institution.
Study Abroad students are not eligible to receive US Federal or private loans through our institution.
Should you wish to take out a US loan, please contact the Financial Aid Office at your home institution. University of the Arts London is able to enter into a consortium agreement and this should be arranged via your home institution.

The Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship Program is for US undergraduate students of limited financial means.
BUTEX (British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association) offers a scholarship for students holding an offer for an Integrated or Semester Study Abroad programme at UAL. The value of each scholarship is £500.
