Student Stories: Mandula Pap and Fashion Mix

Mandula Pap came to Central Saint Martins and joined the Fashion Mix short course, having never studied fashion before. Mandula left with the start of her fashion portfolio and with plans to apply to study fashion in higher education. She said of the course...

"Having never studied fashion before, the course was a good introduction and I learnt a lot about how a collection is made and put together. Studying at CSM also offered me an insight into how studying at a fashion school would be like."

Where are you from and what's your favourite thing about it?

I am from Budapest, which is a beautiful city. For Londoners I think they would find Budapest small, but it has a lot of wonderful thermal baths, markets, restaurants and bars, as well as ruin bars (set up in the ruins of abandoned buildings, stores or lots).

What short course did you to study upon at Central Saint Martins (CSM)?

I attended the Fashion Mix short course which is taught by the wonderful Audrey Ang!

What did you enjoy most about your short course?

Having never studied fashion before, the course was a good introduction and I learnt a lot about how a collection is made and put together. Studying at CSM also offered me an insight into how studying at a fashion school would be like.

What is it like studying in London?

London is really a busy place but also incredibly inspiring and there’s always something new to discover and explore - even for people who live there.

How has your short course benefited your career, education and/or personal development? What are you going to do next with your new skills?

This course has really helped me to start developing my portfolio which I am building towards applying to fashion school.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about taking a short course at CSM? Why should they study there?

Just apply! Your experience will be personal but you will learn something new and get to have fun in London.

What three words best describe your CSM Short Course experience?

Concentration. Discovery. FUN!

Feeling inspired? Fashion Mix returns this Christmas School, which is only five weeks away, and there are also sessions  starting in January, July and  September. See you there
