So you’re on lockdown, self-care is more important than ever. Here are our tips on how to stay healthy both physically and mentally.

1. Have a routine

A routine is key to staying sane. It can be tempting to let your new-found free time control your day. Setting a daily or weekly plan can help keep your brain in check. Start with something as simple as making your bed every morning.

2. Put down your phone

Don't get finger cramp by non-stop scrolling on Instagram. Keep your screen time to a minimum and set aside a chunk of your day where you put your phone away - while cooking, learning something new, working or complete daily tasks.

3. No need to keep "refreshing" the news

Keep updated but don't overdo it.  Try to find a time and place to read the latest updates.

4. Move your body as much as you can!

Get your 30 minutes a day by going on a walk, or run or following an online video. Instagram is blowing-up with live online workouts - find the right one for you!

5. Improve your skills and gain some new ones!

Listen, we know it's hard to stay motivated and positive with everything that's going on, but we are here to inspire and encourage you in your creative journey. Take an Online Short Course, learn something new and meet people from all over the world.

6. Talk to your friends.

Self-isolation can get a bit lonely - but remember you are only ever one phone call away from someone who cares about you! Eat dinner together, play games, or organize a house party!

7. Explore new recipes

Re-discover the kitchen. There's no excuse to not cook for yourself! Try making your favourite meals or those recipes you've had saved for ages. Find inspiration on social media or ask your friends and family.

8. Take time to relax

Not going to lie, we know these are stressful times. Don't beat yourself about not being as productive as you thought you would be. It's okay to take some time off. Take a bath, download the headspace app and meditate, watch a good movie or have a little dance sesh. We just need to get through this and we will!
