It’s our final week of the CSM Short Courses “work in progress” exhibition, which finishes this Sunday 25th August, so don’t miss your chance to check it out in person! Couture Milliner, Odette, is one of our amazing exhibitors, here she tells us how our former Laser Cutting for Textile Design short course led to directly influencing her incredible work.

What short course did you to study upon at Central Saint Martins (CSM)?

I picked Laser Cutting for Textile Design which is led by Laura Baker and Franklin Mok.

What did you enjoy most about your short course?

The ability to use Adobe Illustrator with guidance to prepare drawings suitable for laser cutting. Also, at the end of each session, to experiment with laser cutting and laser engraving on different materials using the machines that were onsite and to see the results immediately.

The CSM campus is in an impeccable location. Coal Drops Yard and Granary Square are areas bursting with energy!

Odette & Elliott’s Mars Red Movement Couture Millinery Collection draws on the design and laser cutting skills developed from the Laser Cutting for Textile Design short course.
