Laura Baker, textiles programme member and a team at Central Saint Martins set up @peoples_masks to encourage the collective making of thousands of washable fabric masks for people to protect themselves and the workers keeping society afloat, from the spread of Covid-19.  Though not medical grade the masks can significantly help reduce the spread of Covid-19, if used alongside hand washing and physical distancing measures. @peoples_masks also encourage finding solace in making during unprecedented times.

Laura Baker is a textiles programme team member at CSM as well as specialist in print. She has worked as a textile designer in industry and on a freelance basis for both fashion and interiors companies. She is also author of the publication 'Laser Cutting for Fashion and Textiles'.

In this webinar Laura will demonstrate how to make a basic cotton face mask. This webinar will be followed by live Q&A.
