As we countdown to the Chelsea, Camberwell and Wimbledon College of Arts Short Course Exhibition, we’re introducing each of the exhibitors whose artwork will feature in the show. Today we showcase students aged between 14 - 18 who have studied a Short Course for Teenagers.

Name: Izzy Titherington
Work title: Fear and Thrill
Short Course: Pre-Foundation Portfolio Preparation for 16-18 Year Olds

‘This piece stemmed from the word 'future' and the conflicting emotions that arise when thinking about both personal and universal events to come. I reworked it throughout the course with the new mediums I had encountered and I feel it embodies all I learnt on the course.’

Name: Elisa Conlan
Work title: Translucent
Short Course: Pre-Foundation Portfolio Preparation for 16-18 Year Olds

‘After my course I learned how to use the influence of other artists, in the painting it was Freud and Bacon. It also made me think about using an interesting composition, rather than having a plain background, yet keeping it contemporary, i did this by playing with my use of colour and texture.’

Name: Pantaree Kambhato
Work title: A Lack of Sophrosyne
Short Course: Pre-Foundation Portfolio Preparation for 16-18 Year Olds

‘A lack of Sophrosyne’ is a piece that I had never though to have done if I had not attended my short course. The short course taught me to work in a more organic and free manner rather than a meticulous and precise one, allowing me to expand my creative rationale.’

Name: Charley Mayhew
Work title: [Virus In Nature]
Short Course: Pre-Foundation Portfolio Preparation for 16-18 Year Olds

‘I used images of natural things (brambles and vegetation) and made them synthetic in order to show how the world is becoming polluted and unnatural. I have taken natural images and turned them into something almost unrecognisable and obscured.’

Name: Maria Belo
Work title: RGPD
Short Course: UAL International Summer School for 16 – 18 Year Olds

‘These photos were based on a project me and my classmates did at school. This resulted in a glorious mix of pictures representing diversity and ideas where everyone’s personality is expressed through art. This reminded me of the spirit shared at the UAL International Summer School course I attended.’

Name: Rosa Laetitia Iurilli
Work title: DIVERSITY UNITES
Short Course: Pre-Foundation Portfolio Preparation for 16-18 Year Olds

‘The techniques employed to reproduce the painting onto skin were heavily inspired by the [short course], both in terms of overcoming the challenges presented in painting over such surface and in terms of enriching the work by donating tri-dimensionality to its lines.’

Name: Jake Scott
Work title: Fade to Black
Short Course: Fine Art for 14 – 17 Year Olds

‘The course was very inspirational and my piece uses several techniques I learnt during it, collaging and turning something 2D into 3D. I am proud of the progress I made over the course and like the end result.’
