Where are you from and what is your occupation?

I am Russian born but live in Sweden and I am a Fashion Designer.

What short course did you study on?

I attended the Building a Fashion Collection course.

What did you enjoy most about your short course?

The research part was really interesting and insightful, getting to test new ways of working, like making collages. I’ve never approached work in this way before and despite struggling at the beginning, by the end I really enjoyed it.

How has this course benefited your career and personal development?

I chose Building a Fashion Collection to refresh my mind and with the hope to learn something new about myself whilst studying, which I really did. I definitely left knowing how to carry out proper research while developing my style.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about taking a short course at Central Saint Martins?

Do it! I had a great experience and felt really inspired after the classes. I went home full of ideas and got a lot closer to finding myself and defining my style.

What do you believe is integral to the work of an artist, in any discipline?

I think the most important thing is to know who you are, what you like and what you want to say with your work.

Your work should be 100% you and have meaning to it. Whether you create clothes or sculptures, through whatever you do, your art should come from your heat and have intention behind it.

What three words best describe your short course experience at CSM?

Intense, challenging and inspiring.
