
Introduction to Fashion Design: Summer School
This London College of Fashion Study Abroad Summer School is aimed at students wanting to know more about fashion design.
A series of units aimed at both fashion and design students wanting to immerse themselves in the contemporary methods of communicating fashion that bridge the gap between creativity and enterprise.
you are 18+ and a student
and
you work, or aspire to work in a creative industry
or
you have an interest in fashion, art and design
and
you want to study and live in London for 14 weeks.
Duration: 14 weeks
Class hours: Min 120 hours / max 160 hours
Non-class hours: Min 120 hours / max 160 hours
Credit value: Min 12 credits / max 16 credits
Level: Beginners

You will enrol on 3 mandatory units and then may select elective units, to total a maximum of 16 credits. A fashion and culture field trip to Paris is included. The Paris trip is cancelled for 2021/22 programmes due to COVID-19.

Fashion Editorial Makeup (3 Credits)*
Creative Visual Communication (3 Credits)
Fashion Journalism (2 Credits)
Creative Direction for Fashion Media (3 Credits)
Fashion Public Relations (2 Credits)
Social Media and Online Communication (2 Credits)
Fashion Marketing in the UK (2 Credits)
*this unit is not offered for Spring 2022
You should be proficient in written and spoken English and be able to participate in group discussions and make presentations. As a guideline we would expect you to have an English language level equivalent to IELTS score of 6.0 and at least 5.5 in each skill.

Students applying for this course are expected to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
