Biography

Kirsty Nevett is the Course Leader for the MA Strategic Fashion Marketing and a Senior Lecturer in Marketing within the Fashion Business School.  Kirsty specialises in teaching Marketing, Innovation and Retail across both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.  She also supports research students as a Final Major Project Supervisor. Additionally, she is an External Examiner for the Fashion Business and Marketing programmes at University of Winchester and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Kirsty spent 20 years working in the fashion industry initially in Retail and Buying & Merchandising and then in Business Development and Innovation working for companies such as Harrods, Lyle & Scott and Gloverall.  Her academic career commenced in 2016 as an Associate Lecturer, taking on a full-time role with London College of Fashion in 2017.  She graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BA in Business, focussing on Marketing then completed a postgraduate MSc. in International Fashion Marketing.  Kirsty’s currently studying a PgCert in Academic Practice and hopes to follow this with a MA Academic Practice in Art, Design and Communication to further continue research interests in pedagogy, student experience and innovative learning.  Kirsty’s marketing research interests lie in social retail and consumer behaviour.
