Haus of Horror II: Rise of the Evil Icon

This Halloween, London College of Fashion invites students to take part in HAUS OF HORROR II: Rise of the Evil Icons — a creative project celebrating the legendary icons that shaped the horror genre.
Students are invited to design, create, or submit existing work inspired by or suitable for iconic horror figures such as Frankenstein, Dracula, werewolves, mummies, zombies, ghosts, goblins, and other classic cinematic beings.
Rather than focusing on gore, the project explores transformation, theatricality, and character creation, the moment a human becomes something uncanny, mythic, or monstrous. Expect horror with a fashion twist: trashy, campy, vampy, scary, stylish and couture. This is about dressing up and make believe, pushing character design through bold creative interpretation.
Your work can be fully influenced and realised for the project or could simply be Frankenstein wearing a dress! All ways of taking part are valid.
The project will focus on transforming models into reimagined horror icons through fancy dress, prosthetics, makeup, hair, and styling. Think cracked and stitched skin inspired by Frankenstein, aristocratic vampiric elegance, feral werewolf anatomy, the wrapped decay of mummies, deteriorating zombie textures, or creatures emerging from the depths. These characters should not simply be recreated, but reinterpreted through your own creative lens, complimentary or contrasting with fashion styling.
The final works will be showcased in a short film and editorial shoot exploring the aesthetics of horror metamorphosis, where prosthetics, makeup, and fashion styling bring iconic monsters to life in unexpected ways.
Why take part
This is an opportunity to showcase your work in a highly professional creative production and receive high-quality visual assets for your portfolio and social media.
Some limited resources and workshop support are available for selected prosthetic projects. Please mention this in your proposal if required.
How to apply
- Images / photos of designs or ideas you want to contribute. These can be existing works / pieces you have ready.
- Prosthetic, hair, makeup, or costume ideas
- Examples of other contributions you’d like to make
- Your name, course, year and Instagram handle
Work does not need to be perfectly finished. Rough or experimental items and prosthetics can translate powerfully through film, lighting, and photography, so if in doubt, submit.
