Our facilities include the biggest fashion library and archive in the UK, sample and sewing rooms, a 3D modelling room, cosmetic science labs, visual merchandising suites and make-up studios.
We've got machinery that you won’t have seen in many places before, and wonderful technical staff to show you how to use it. From the Digital Anthropology Lab working with augmented reality at John Princes Street to the dye and flax garden at Mare Street, we make sure you have everything you need (and a lot more you didn't know you needed).

Resources for students
Technical staff
Specialist technical teams play a key role throughout your time here. They will be teaching essential parts of your course curriculum and providing guidance in a range of processes from traditional craft to innovative digital practice. Technical teams also manage the various specialist resources and stores across LCF.
E-learning
At LCF, on-campus activity is enhanced through E-learning, which supports flexible and independent learning. The ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ (VLE) allows you to participate in a wide range of projects and collaborate with fellow students, staff and industry. Moodle is the VLE at UAL. This will be the main ‘home’ for your course online and you should ensure to check it regularly.
LCF's Learning Technology Support
Learning Technology Support is a dedicated internal team of support staff and production specialists. They run the Open Access areas at each of LCF's five sites, and have a range of skills and backgrounds, including graphic and web design, desktop publishing, video production and CAD CAM.
LTS has a separate website for current staff and students at the College: LCF Technical Resources. This is the portal to all LCF Technical Resources. You can browse by Site, or by Department. You can also search for a specific subject using the search bar at the top of the page. You can also find guides and lessons on equipment and processes, as well as contact details for associated specialist technical staff.
Online Resources Booking (ORB)
Students can reserve equipment, book inductions, workshops and workspaces using ORB. Please use your UAL Username and Password to log in. If you experience any issues with ORB please visit IT Open Access at any site or contact IT Service Desk.
