Common Threads turns fashion waste into a shared space for creativity, learning, and wellbeing through workshops, talks, and a collaborative

What if fashion waste became a shared resource for creativity, learning, and wellbeing?

Common Threads: Circular Fashion Commons is a collaborative project between MA Fashion Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Womenswear 3D Development & Realisation at London College of Fashion. Building on the success of last year’s Common Threads exhibition, this new chapter transforms surplus materials into a living platform for circular design.

Across a week of workshops, talks, and making sessions, participants will explore opportunities to reduce textile waste, think circular, and learn about contributing to positive impact in fashion.

At the heart of the project is a one-week exhibition showcasing work from LCF students. Additionally, visitors are invited to actively participate by co-creating upcycled pieces that become part of the evolving display - building a culture of collaboration, care, and circular thinking.

Common Threads demonstrates how waste can be reimagined as a catalyst for creativity and wellbeing across UAL, while developing a model for circular fashion practices that can be adopted by other courses and institutions.

Come make, learn, and rethink waste with us.
