LCF Grad Futures: Interview Skills to Secure your First Role

Master interview techniques to confidently answer common interview questions and talk about yourself and your work securing your dream job.

This session is only for London College of Fashion students and graduates. It is aligned to your Graduate Futures careers and employability journey.

This session will explore how to prepare for both online and in-person interviews, including tips on talking about yourself and answering tough questions under pressure.

We’ll guide you through the process of self-reflection, helping you to understand your strengths and experiences, so you can articulate them clearly and confidently in an interview and take a deep dive into how to master the most common interview questions, with practical tips to answer with confidence and authenticity using the STAR technique in a way that leaves a lasting impression.

Advice on non-verbal communication techniques, the best questions to ask your interviewer, and the power of follow-up emails and maintaining resilience throughout your job search, is included to ensure you stay motivated and prepared for every opportunity that comes your way.

  • Melanie Mitchell,Graduate Futures Careers Consultant: Leveraging over 20 years of experience as a Buyer, Headhunter and now Consultant, Melanie has worked with a number of brands including Christian Louboutin, Vivienne Westwood, AllSaints, Threads Styling and Sweaty Betty on projects relating to talent acquisition and executive search. Passionate about helping to build both brands and careers through putting the right people, in the right place at the right time she continues to use her industry expertise to coach and inspire the next generation looking to pursue careers in fashion.
