What Temple Do We Want?

Join us in a participatory performance and collective action that builds on artist Eva Sajovic’s recent work Rise and Fall of a Temple.

Rise and Fall of a Temple is currently showing as an exhibition at Chelsea Space and developed as part of the UAL Research Fellowship at the British School at Rome.

An invitation to imagine, deliberate, and act together. Come together to dream collectively and embody shared agency through sound, movement, and costume. Together we will ask: What future do we want? What future can we imagine—and divine—together?

Eva has led a collaborative process of creating costumes and props that will be shared and worn.

The procession will be guided by Augur Alexy, with group voice facilitation by Nicole Bettencourt Coelho, in the spirit of the Witch Choir.

Together, we will build a temple through divinatory somatic explorations to deliberate on what a “temple” for the future might look like: what values it holds, what it shelters, and what we leave behind.

The evening concludes with a collective reflection on what came up through the process.

A late evening opening of Rise and Fall of a Temple and refreshments at Chelsea Space will follow.

This event is free and open to all. Please contact our team if you have any specific access requirements: publicprogramme@arts.ac.uk
