Dr Tony Cooper is a senior lecturer in fashion marketing at London College of Fashion and an adjunct lecturer at RMIT University in Melbourne. In addition to his accomplishments in tertiary education, Tony has a broad base of experience in consumer goods marketing throughout the Asia-Pacific region, Australia, Hong Kong and China in particular. As well as marketing and product management roles, Tony has led design, development and production teams in leading global fashion brands, providing a rich depth of knowledge which informs his teaching practice.
With a master’s degree in marketing from RMIT and bachelor’s degrees in business and sociology from Monash University, Tony’s doctoral thesis examined social media engagement in fashion brand communities, documenting the strategic management of online governance. His research interests include the use of social media in relationship marketing, innovation in business models, the co-creation of value using social media and digital skills development in the fashion industry. He is widely published, reviews for many leading journals and is a strong advocate for life-long-learning.
