Interview

Tell us about your professional experience and background

My background includes working with luxury fashion brands such as Burberry and Net-A-Porter within their emerging markets, marketing, and social media departments. I was Fashion Editor at Paper Magazine, and for the past several years a freelance consultant, writing and styling for publications such as Vogue, Who What Wear, Ok! and others.

What inspires and excites you about your area of practice?

The constant innovations and pushing of boundaries not only in the business/ creative aspects but also in regards to inclusion and diversity. It's an arena where everyone is welcome and differences are celebrated.

What can students expect from your course?

A multitude of experiences and a well rounded meticulously planned, detailed course that will get you ready to pursue marketing, fashion or anything else your heart desires out there in the real world.

What advice would you give to students wanting to study your course?

Be prepared to wear many hats. You will learn things and develop areas which will require a lot of hard-work and time but most importantly organisation on your part. Also utilise your tutors and lecturers. They have a whole lot of experiences and advice.

Minal joined London College of Fashion as part of the The Academic Development Fund. An annual £3m investment in new academic posts and evidence-based developmental initiatives that bring together a range of colleagues across UAL.
