Biography

A.V.ROBERTSON, the label specialising in uniquely embellished womenswear and accessories was launched in 2015 by Amie Victoria Robertson. The Manchester-born designer studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, graduating in 2014 with her unusual collection combining black oversized polo necks with cut out sections, clustered with handmade iridescent embellishment.

After graduation the designer worked at Marc Jacobs in New York and Paris as a Design Assistant, assisting with research and creating embroideries and prints for the Ready To Wear and Commercial collections. Alongside her position at Marc Jacobs she worked in collaboration with ASOS, the global fashion retailer on the AW15 collection ASOS BLACK X A.V.ROBERTSON, designing an 11 piece clothing and accessories range based on her graduate collection.

In February 2016 the brand made its debut show with Fashion East, showcasing a 14 piece collection for Autumn Winter 16. The Show styled by Katie Grand and including a parade of models such as Edie Campbell, Molly Bair, Georgia Jagger and Anna Cleveland was presented at The Tate Britain. The collection signified the brand’s trademark aesthetic ‘Casual Couture.’ Taking a modern approach to couture and tailoring, the designer combines contemporary iridescent embellishment specific to the label, with modern and wearable silhouettes.
