During the summer term in 2023, MA Fashion Futures students had the chance to explore how fashion could be situated in a public realm with support from the Design Researchers in Residence Programme at the Design Museum. On 2 June 2023, students showcased their creative outcomes to the 'Reworlding Brief' at the Design Museum. This eight-week project challenged the students to expand their fashion practice: to revamp the standards we have become used to, to relate to a new fashion audience, and to rewire fashion as we know it.

Students developed new ways to perceive and present fashion to the public. They designed scenarios, used world-building techniques, and developed both technology-focused and craft alternatives to dominant unsustainable modes of fashion-making, in order to explore and understand what it means to be a fashion futurist.
