Wen studied MA Fashion Design Technology Menswear and is from China.

What and where did you study prior to your MA at LCF?

I majored in Art Design (Fashion Art Design) at Donghua University. The undergraduate course lasted for four years.

What inspires you?

I am often inspired by paintings, not only by others’ work, but also from my own process of drawing. For my MA I drew extinct animals by hand which I used as my print pattern and then had them screen printed onto fabric rather than digitally printing. I really wanted viewers to look back at the beauty that comes from using traditional techniques in a world of increasing technological development.

What are your future plans?

Over the next few years I plan to work for high-end fashion companies to establish my network and refine myself as a designer. In the future, I want to run my own business which will combine creative design, culture and media.

What advice would you give someone wanting to study at postgraduate level at LCF?

Devote yourself to the course as much as you can, and enjoy it!
