Next up on in our Class of 2014 series is BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery student Annie Berner who has received international recognition as an ITS  Jewellery Finalist whilst completing her graduate collection.

LCF: What have you enjoyed most about studying at LCF?
Annie Berner: The journey of an idea coming to life. Being in the workshop – when we are all working on our projects, bouncing ideas of each other, introducing each other to new techniques and materials.

LCF: Have you won any prizes /undertaken work experience?
AB: I’ve worked at Fannie Schiavoni as a studio assistant– a great workshop environment where I learned a lot about running a fashion jewellery brand. I have been selected as a ITS (International Talent Support) Jewellery Finalist which means exciting times ahead.

LCF: What inspires you?
AB: I like shiny things, textures and colours, stones and flowers

LCF: What is most important to you about fashion?
AB: People from different societies and cultural backgrounds come together over a shared interest in something so intimate and revealing.

LCF: How would you sum up your graduate collection?
AB: The exploration of digital production combined with artisan techniques in creating exciting textures and finishes.

LCF: What are your plans for the future?
AB: The plan is to get a job in jewellery production, design or a combination of both.

LCF: What advice would you give someone wanting to study for a BA at LCF?
AB: Work hard and make the most of your time here. Take advantage of all the opportunities; workshops, technicians, extra curricular projects and guest lectures. Take risks in your work and try new things that will push your designs further.
