Today, our final-year BA Fashion students shared their graduating work with the world through the course's first ever digital-only launch.
With the annual physical BA Fashion Show cancelled due to coronavirus, this year's graduating cohort created a collective film to launch their professional careers. In change to previous years, students were tasked with creating two looks from their collection and an accompanying film. Edits of each of the 109 films were then stitched together to create one final piece. This creative endeavour took enormous effort and ingenuity from both staff and students as well as invaluable expertise and support from alumni – with special thanks to Daniel Lee of Bottega Veneta.

The students introduced their presentation with a group statement:
"It has been a journey of trials and tribulations at a time that defines all our careers. But, as the entire world is put to test, it is in adversity that creativity has helped overcome these hurdles. After up to four years of waiting for this moment that will shape our lives, it has been important to be resilient in our purpose. The pandemic did not prepare us for the impact it would have on our work but it has challenged us to push past traditional routes and redefine what it means to be designers at the beginning of a new decade."
This year marks the twentieth anniversary of L'Oreal Professionnel's support for the annual showcase of BA Fashion work. For this lockdown show they linked students to their network of creative young hairstylists to collaborate virtually.
