Dialogue in Practic(s)e

How are architectural futures shaped by tutor and student relationships in the present?

Dialogue in Practic(s)e shares works by the students, tutors and alumni of BA Architecture, Central Saint Martins. This exhibition springs from our curiosity as students about our tutors: What is the nature of their individual practices, and how does this mould and inhabit our learning?

Drawing out the complex dynamics of architectural teaching and learning, our works are viewed side by side, in dialogue. Framed through six thematic "islands," each reflecting a key aspect of the CSM Spatial Practices manifesto, we invite you to encounter diverse ways that architectural concepts can be engaged with and interrogated: Communities, Art, Materials, Cities, Alternative Pathways and Climate.

Bringing the architecture curriculum /classroom into the open with a programme of events and workshops in the in the Lethaby Gallery, we invite knowledge to circulate, to be reinvented by anyone. As you view the works, are you able to distinguish between tutor and learner? What dialogues have been created and what does this connection mean for the world around us?
