Portals of Activation Around the World: Connecting Through Performance and Broadcast

WELCOME TO OUR BROADCAST

We are in an age of simultaneous connection and separation. We are bordered, we are polarised, we are disconnected. Postgraduate students on MA Intercultural Practices and MA Performance Society are collaborating to explore these themes as a diverse and international cohort distributed in space and time. Leading up to May Day (1 May), which in the UK marks the start of summer, we will bring together the spirit of springtime celebrations with Radio S.O.S. (Mayday! Mayday!) and International Workers’ Day for socio-economic justice.

Using the windows of the Lethaby Gallery and Granary Square, we aim to collide ancient and new technologies into rituals of connection and change. We will use performance and broadcasting to attract diverse publics within an international mycelium network of activism and catharsis, making space for mutual aid and reimagining. Join us!
