Digital Fabrication Bureau

Modern digital making methods complement the large range of traditional making methods available at Central Saint Martins and open up new fields where students can develop expertise.

The Digital Fabrication Bureau is equipped for student making, utilising 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting and 3D scanning. Our equipment is modern, of a high standard and well maintained. Our technical staff are here to help demystify the digital making pathways and to assist students in achieving creative excellence through digitally made work.

The workshop is run as a bureau where the cutting and printing is done by a technician and there is a nominal charge for the service. We keep charges as low as possible, and all revenue goes directly towards the operating and maintenance costs of the equipment, which allows us to offer a high calibre facility.

The service is available to all BA and MA students studying at the College, following an induction in their first or second year (depending on course).
