3D Make

3D Make is arranged with metal and wood fabrication and large CNC workshops on the ground floor, where medium to large works are constructed and installed.

Model-making workshops on the first floor are for small-scale model making using wood and plastics. Students can practice heating and shaping plastics, vacuum forming, lathe operation, milling, polishing, sand blasting and welding

Equipment

  • Mig welders.
  • Large plasma cutter.
  • Metal folders.
  • Plate roller.
  • Guillotine.
  • Chip forge and pipe benders.
  • Fixed and mobile equipment for cutting, drilling, and assembling, plus many other specialist processes.

3D Make Digital

Specialising in digital fabrication techniques and processes, students are inducted on to each piece of equipment and learn to operate the machinery to produce their own work.

Equipment

  • 3D printers.
  • Laser cutters.
  • CNC routers.
  • Solder stations.

Digital Fabrication Bureau

Equipped for student making in advanced 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting and 3D scanning.

Run as a bureau, cutting and printing are carried out by a technician for a nominal charge.

Our technical staff can help demystify digital making pathways and assist in achieving creative outcomes through digitally made work.
