In the Grow Lab students are exposed to scientific principles, experimental design, and the profound sense of wonder that comes from studying the natural world. Projects could involve growing bacteria and yeast, propagating plants or running bioreactors.
The Grow Lab is a Containment Level 1 biology laboratory focused on sterile work, microbiology and microscopy relating to art and design. It is equipped with safety and fume hoods, incubators, multiple microscopes, and workstations for data acquisition and analysis. Support comes from a team of designers as well as a biologist and bio lab technician.
