The Paint/Surface workshop is an open access workshop for students wanting to achieve a greater understanding of painting processes and technique, paint finishes and spray finishes.

We have a 3D large spray booth facility with air lines, gravity guns, airbrush spray guns, canvas stretching and priming tools.

In the Paint/Surface workshop students can use the large table for stretching and priming canvases and preparing supports. Students can also achieve a greater understanding of mixed media painting processes, paint finishes and spray finishes.

In this workshop students have produced large circular colour gradient discs for an art installation and a pearlescent spray finish on a sculpted fashion garment. Product design students have achieved gravity gun spray finishes for degree show final piece.

Whilst any student is welcome to visit, the workshop it is used primarily by Fine Art 2D painting or 3D sculpture, Product Design and Material Futures. The workshop is open Monday to Friday, however technical cover is only available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and alternate Fridays.
