Library and shared spaces

    Library

    Central Saint Martins Library is an extensive resource for study and research, with technology-rich workspaces, quiet space and collaborative working.

    Loan Store

    A range of loan equipment to support student learning and making, including portable audiovisual equipment. Students can borrow equipment on a short-term basis for no additional charge.

    Student Centre

    Central Saint Martins Student Centre has a dedicated team to support you with official matters such as ID cards, forms and documentation.

    Canteen

    Serving meals to our community every day, CSM Canteen focuses on wellbeing and sustainability. Preparing freshly-made, locally-sourced produce with a 70% vegetarian or vegan menu.

    Platform Bar

    Students, staff and public are welcome at the Platform Bar, Central Saint Martins. We work with local breweries Two Tribes and Mondo, and we have a carefully curated wine list.

    Swap Shop

    Donate or take away surplus and discarded materials at our sustainable materials hub.

    Roof terrace

    Outdoor roof space with active dye garden at the top of the Granary building. Students and staff maintain plants and extract natural dyes for use in our print and dye workshops.

    LVMH Lecture Theatre

    Our state of the art, multipurpose lecture theatre and events facility hosts lectures and major events throughout the year.

Bike storage

270 CCTV-monitored bicycle parking spaces for students and staff.

Located in our basement, accessed via turnstiles in The Crossing.

Spaces are first come, first served. To book, email infrastructure@csm.arts.ac.uk from your UAL email address, and include your student ID (emails from non-university accounts will be automatically rejected).

Notes for use

  • Please do not take bicycles anywhere else in the building.
  • For safety reasons, use a bike lock.
  • For daily use only: please do not leave your bike overnight.
  • Not suitable for motorcycles or mopeds. Motorcycle parking can be found at the northern end of the King's Cross site.

The Street

A multipurpose open-plan area at the centre of our King’s Cross campus, with overhead walkways across 3 levels.

Here you'll find the arts supplies shopCentral Loan StoreLVMH Lecture Theatre, Swap Shop and Canteen. The space is used for student exhibitions, runway shows, performances and our end of year CSM Shows.

Showers and changing rooms

Room J101: first floor of J Block.

The Crossing

Public walkway, open 24 hours a day

Entrances on Handyside Street Canopy and Stable Street. The Crossing is home to our Window Galleries.

Quiet spaces

Multi-faith spaces for prayer, personal reflection, meditation.

All students are welcome to use these spaces. You do not need special permission to enter. Please be respectful of anyone using these rooms.

King's Cross

  • Multi-faith room First-floor middle bridge (between blocks E and J)
  • Wellbeing room K project space pod
  • Rooms D127 and D128 serve as quiet spaces from 6pm Monday to Friday all year round; and Saturdays during term time.

Archway

  • Front of the café.
  • Ground floor, Archway Annexe: by the entrance.
