B-Regen launch event: Emerging practices of creating with/for nature as a driver of change in the UK economy

On October 26 2022, we held our launch event at Samsung KX. During the afternoon, experts and practitioners in biodesign and biotechnology, material innovation, circular business and design practice, and shifting cultural views participated in creative discussions.

The community examined a variety of themes related to the query "What does becoming and being regenerative entail in the context of real-world design and entrepreneurial projects" during an engaging afternoon program and gathered a distinguished panel of experts:

  • Samantha Jenkins, Lead Biotechnology Engineer at Biohm
  • Delfina Fantini van Ditmar, Biologist, Design Researcher, and Senior Lecturer at RCA
  • Samuel Iliffe, Design Engineer at Petit Pli and Design Researcher in residence at the Design Museum
  • Enni-Kukka Tuomala, the world’s first Empathy Artist.

The conference explored the experimental side of regenerative journeys and practices in sustainable fashion, regenerative design, biodesign, and biomanufacturing. It also examined how unorthodox ideas and initiatives gain momentum (or struggle to do so) through entrepreneurial endeavours. From studios, start-ups, and organisations in sectors like luxury fashion and architecture, along with researchers from top universities, the event brought together key stakeholders, top thinkers, and practitioners from various disciplines that created a lively forum for making connections and opening dialogue.

Stay tuned for upcoming events via our newsletter.
