Week three: 23–27 January

Events are on a first come, first served basis.

1–2pm: Lunchtime conversation: with Esi Eshun and Kathryn Yussoff

Professor of Inhuman Geography at Queen Mary University, Kathryn Yussoff’s work is centred on dynamic earth events such as abrupt climate change, biodiversity loss and extinction. She is interested in how these “earth revolutions” impact social thought.

Esi Shun is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and independent researcher. She works primarily with text, sound and performance to investigate some of the socio-economic, psychological and philosophical contradictions of colonialism, and its continuing geopolitical and ecological significances.

Saturday 27 January

12–5pm: ‘Extracurricular’ with Marc Hulson and Owen Parry

‘Extracurricular’ brings Owen Parry’s exploratory model of the ‘performance hang out’ into dialogue with the deconstructed, low budget aesthetics of Marc Hulson’s ‘Metahorror’ project. A group of MA Fine Art students, staff and alumni will work together on a day-long durational performance.
