Throughout Show One: Art, we’re celebrating the work of our graduating students and speaking to them about the ideas and inspirations behind their final pieces.

Shannon Bono is an MA Art and Science student whose work is based around the black female body, looking at how anatomy can be used to express black female narratives. For her final piece, Shannon presented three paintings, three audio pieces and a head cast which gave platform to stories of female leaders from Sierra Leone and the Congo. Here Shannon tells us about her final piece and the stories expressed through them.

Shannon Bono's work was exhibited as part of Show One: Art, 22–26 May 2019.
