This week, we were treated to an interactive art piece in which students “expressed their feelings of Trump through drawing”. From Emo-Trump to Brainless Trump, each portrait made a statement and provided a little therapy in the process.

The Evening Standard explained why BA Fashion grad Molly Goddard is “London’s designer of the moment” – it includes seven metre-long dresses and a current exhibition in which visitors can embroider them.

We learnt that an arts education prepares you for anything, reading that the first woman to go through SAS training with the British Army was Azi Ahmed, a CSM graduate and now parliamentary candidate.

Designer Ross Lovegrove came to talk to students from the Product, Ceramics and Industrial Design Programme. He encouraged them to always ask questions and warned against the arrogance of scale and wasted materials. The new students on MA Industrial Design got to know each other a little better with the annual Connections project.

CMS grad, artist and textile designer Kay Davis was part of Buzzfeed’s celebration of the Women bringing #BlackGirlMagic to the UK.

We were chuffed to hear that Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan is exploring plans for a Creative Land Trust to support London’s artists through affordable creative workspace across the capital.

We spoke to third year BA Graphic Design student Thomas Moore about his 2016 reinterpretation of Hogarth’s Gin Lane for the Royal Society of Public Health and his appearance on Radio 4’s Today Programme.

Billboard asked “Why do Lady Gaga, Beyonce & Rihanna turn to Central Saint Martins for their edgy looks?“. Well, we know the answer to that one.

MA Design graduate (and workshop technician) Mark Laban spoke to Crafts magazine about combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge digital technology and being “very Saint Martins“.

We celebrate a recent donation to the CSM Museum and Study Collection of  bronze medals made by BA Jewellery Design students.

And finally, an installation appeared in the College this week requesting we take a moment to stop and ask: When was the last time you did absolutely nothing?
