Biography

I am a researcher and designer specialising in material exploration and speculative scenario development. I am most recognised for merging product design with scientific innovation and craft reinvention. My creative practice has caught the attention of some of the biggest media companies, such as The Guardian, New York Times, Wired, Arte and Dezeen, as I have worked with established international institutions and private companies.

I was awarded the NOVA (2016) and the A'Design Award (2015 and 2017) for my contribution to the design industry. In addition, my work has been published in academic publications such as Artez's journal: Searching for the new luxury and the SpeculativeEdu Book: an educational project funded by ERASMUS+ and the European Union programme for education, training, youth, and sport.

I have pioneered learning programmes and helped develop educational curriculums that disrupt the fashion industry's current unsustainable and unethical model for the learning department of Makerversity at Somerset House and TEDI-London - Global Design Engineering University. In 2019, I developed a guest lecture course about Speculative Design for the world-renowned trend forecast and futurist Geraldine Wharry and a Material Innovation Master course for the School of Arts and Creative Industries at East London University.

I am currently a Lecturer at Central Saint Martins and a Senior Lecturer in Strategic Design and Innovation at the London College of Fashion. I am pursuing my research and design work by focusing on the ethics, sustainability and re-evaluation of the animal-based material culture.
