Biography

I am a studio leader at UAL CSM BA Architecture; architect (ARB) and founding director of LLRLLRR – practice for architecture and spatial studies. The office values direct contact with site, habitants, users, materials and local resources and knowledge - this leads to practices such self-build, material testing and developing new briefs from the outset in collaboration with communities, producers and institutions.

In 2018 I was one of the authors of Weak Monument – Estonian pavilion at the 16th Venice Biennale of Architecture that was driven by the politics of everyday structures such as scaffoldings and pavements. I am inspired by informal building techniques, countrysides as spatial and social environments and urban mining as a resource. I am also diploma studio leader at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn, and part of a scenius to establish a new architecture faculty in Art Academy of Latvia.

My earlier professional experience spans working on large scale public buildings at Kaan Architecten in the Netherlands, teaching MSc architecture studio at the Chair of Complex Projects in TU Delft in the Netherlands and designing residential and commercial projects in London as part of Sanchez Benton architects.
