Biography

I am a Greek/Italian London-based animation director and co-founder of Moth Studio. Known for its perceptive and emotive storytelling with a strong emphasis on character and design as communication, Moth has produced commercial and commissioned work for clients big and small, including Google, Spotify, Headspace, The New York Times and the WWF.

Born and raised in Athens and with a passion for Animation since age 3, I left the beach behind, braved the cold weather and went on to study Illustration and Animation at Kingston University London and the Royal College of Art, where Moth was formed.

During my studies, I used observational and life drawing as the basis for my animation work, which developed into animated documentary and reportage, a field I am still most passionate about.

With an industry experience of 12 years both as a freelance animator and director and a studio owner, my classes always aim to developing students’ professional skills to ensure their work ethic and production is in keeping with industry standards.

When not in the studio, I enjoy presenting talks, teaching and mentoring at organisations, universities and festivals worldwide. In my spare time I do improv comedy, too many dance and language classes, and like to get lost in nature and tropical forests.
