Biography

I am an Associate Lecturer on the Master of Business Administration (MBA), as well as teaching on design courses such as BA Graphic Communication Design. I supervise individual student work and facilitate the collaborative projects of cross-multidisciplinary multicultural teams. I see my role as supporting nascent designers and entrepreneurs in their search for innovative solutions that make a difference to society.

A combination of business, creative and environmental approaches to project management form the basis of my educational practice. Trained as a business manager at Toulouse Business School in France, I have worked as a market research consultant with large multinational and smaller Food and FMCG businesses in Europe. I hold a MA in Design Studies from Central Saint Martins and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education for Sustainable Development from the French Institut National Supérieur du Professorat et de l’Éducation (INSPÉ). I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Beside my work at CSM, I research and experiment with kitchen gardening, focusing on fruit. My aim is to empower garden owners and other consumers to eat better and more ethically. I draw on the development of my own craft, my work with non-profit organisations in France and the UK and on garden history as well as food science to create and validate practical solutions for that purpose. The benefit should be a significantly reduced gap between attitudes and behaviours in ethical consumerism. The research is available in my personal blog, Les Jardins d’ici.
