Biography

I am Head of Technical Resources and part of the College Executive Group. I provide senior level, management and strategic development leadership for the technical teaching resources and staff at Central Saint Martins. I joined UAL in 2017 with a remit to develop and redesign the technical resource structure at the college. I now lead the technical teams at Central Saint Martins, which consists of 130 technical professionals across 13 technical clusters with 42 distinct technical areas.

I originally trained as an engineer at Imperial College specialising in aeronautics. After several years working in this field, I was offered an engineering role working within an art school. I have since spent my career working in art and design education, working in several roles including Technician, Technical Tutor, Teaching Fellow, and various technical management roles. I have specific technical expertise with Computer Aided Design and Computer Assisted Manufacture with Multiaxis simultaneous machining, and Additive Manufacturing.

We have an incredible array of technical facilities and skilled technical staff at CSM which students utilise to develop skills to allow them to think and change through making. These include resources for 3D Design, AI, Animation, Biodesign, Casting, Ceramics, Costume, Digital Print, Fashion, Film and Video, Jewellery, Knit, Letterpress, Paint, Performance, Photogrammetry / 3D capture, Photography, Print and Dye, Printmaking, Publications, Surface Design, Textiles. VR and Weave.
