Biography
I am an artist, architect, teacher, experimental cook and host. Through projects that explore the idea of gathering, my design practice looks at how convivial and collective infrastructure can shape new civic spaces and strategies.
I am one of the co-funder of FRITTO MISTO, a critical design practice exploring the agency and power of creating spaces through the deeply human (and political) dimension of sharing a meal together. In our work we use storytelling to turn research into edible form, adopting food as subject, object and medium towards playful spatial explorations.
I am currently developing a rural school in Italy,
The School of Filó, a knowledge exchange and cultural project which takes the form of a diffused network of classrooms. Since 2023, the school explores and celebrates the realities of the traditional ‘contrada’ villages, - typical of the venetian pre-Alpine valleys - and each year, it hosts a diverse programme of participatory action-research projects, situated art residencies, cultural festivals, workshops and walks.
From 2015 I have been part of the London-based architecture and art practice
public works where I specialised in developing co-design methods in the context of community-driven projects. With PW I exhibited at the British Pavilion of the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale and the 2021 Istanbul Design Biennale.
Alongside my professional practice, I have been teaching between the UK, Sweden and Europe for a decade now, and I currently lead the first year of BA Architecture at Central Saints Martins, UAL.
