Foundation Diploma in Art and Design
The course is unique in offering both specialist and diagnostic modes of study. If you’re confident about your future direction, the specialist course lets you apply to one of five curriculum areas.

Foundation Diploma in Art and Design | Curriculum Area: 3-Dimensional Design and Architecture
In the 3-Dimensional Design and Architecture curriculum area we encourage the exploration of materials and the development of making skills. Students learn how to use tools and machinery.

Foundation Diploma in Art and Design | Curriculum Area: Graphic Communication Design
In the Graphic Communication Design Curriculum Area we encourage a broad understanding of the field of Graphic Communication Design and place a great deal of emphasis on the development and communication of ideas and creative thinking.

Foundation Diploma in Art and Design | Curriculum Area: Fine Art
In the Fine Art curriculum area, you are free to make work that explores the use of colour, the image and representation (Painting), materials, process, space and the site (Sculpture), through to the use of time-based media including video and sound, or work that deliberately incorporates or confronts an audience (Fine Art: 4D).

The Fashion and Textiles curriculum area encompasses a broad range of activities and disciplines. The two pathways are closely related, allowing students a range of options for developing skills in specific areas. We encourage students to develop their individual strengths and support them in creating a personal and creative portfolio.
