Insieme

In Lara's words...

"'Insieme' is a project that investigates whether the interaction between skateboarders and stakeholders in city planning can be improved and if it can result in innovative design outcomes.

"In fact, the research has highlighted that the actors involved in designing for skateboarders (clients, design makers and skateboarders themselves), often tend to be conservative and to produce outcomes that are obvious and yet not creative. 'Insieme' is a workshop that challenges skateboarders, design makers and property builders to collaborate in order to rethink the objects that populate the streets.

"It starts by guiding participants to change the shape of those objects by drawing them based on uses they are not intended for. Second, it encourages the group to translate those drawings into 3D models that skateboarders would enjoy skateboarding.

"The name “Insieme” is an Italian word that means “together”. In fact, its main purpose is to encourage participants to collaborate so that together they can generate original, innovative and challenging street models, suitable for skateboarding."
