Libby Jackson, a leading UK expert in human space flight, wrote a book called A Galaxy of Her Own – Amazing Stories of Women in Space, on 50 inspirational women who have made significant contribution to mankind’s relationship with space. Penguin Random House reached out to London College of Communication (LCC) to create beautiful illustrations to bring the stories to life.
Thirty-five BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media students and graduates worked on the brief to create bold, bright and beautiful illustrations for the stories. The designers were tasked with maintaining scientific accuracy while expressing their creativity.
The book, which features 50 illustrations by LCC students and graduates, was commissioned by Century and is available for purchase on Penguin’s website.
