In the 3D Workshop, you will have access to a wide range of tools and technologies from traditional woodworking to digital fabrication.
We have dedicated wood and plastic workshops as well as a laser cutting, 3D printing and scanning facilities. The 3D workshop team are onsite to support all manner of 3D making.
Please note: From September 2027, London College of Communication will be moving to our new building, just across the road from our current site. Technical Resources and facilities are subject to change. Find out more about our new building, opening in September 2027.
Woodwork and Plastic
In the Wood Workshop you will find a CNC router, bandsaws, table saws, drills and sanders. In the Plastics Workshop you can recycle milk bottles, vacuum form plastics, cut polystyrene and bend rigid plastics. There is also a spray room and fume cabinet for using spray paints and glues safely.
Digital Fabrication
In the 3D printing department, we have a bank of Ultimaker FDM printers and a Form 3 SLA Printer for finer details. There is also a 3D scanner for scanning objects to create digital 3D models, a Mimika 3D colour printer and Clay 3D Printer.
In the laser cutting bureau we have 3 Trotec laser cutters which can cut wood plastic and card, as well as 2 small vinyl cutters for creating graphics.
