Pablo Damian Cristi

Posters designed for the promotion of Pablo Damian Cristi's sculpture
Posters by Kaitlin O’Connor and Krystina Kara | London College of Communication | UAL

Pablo Damian Cristi was invited for a 2-month residency at the Royal Exchange London, as part of his Third Christ Carrying the Cross Giustiniani project. He collaborated with London College of Communication (LCC) to create posters for its London Underground campaign.

MA Illustration and Visual Media students working on this brief were asked to design two posters communicating the project and its grand unveiling, to be used across their platforms and as a part of the London Underground campaign. Pablo Damian Cristi and his team hosted an insightful session where the students were engaged on the meaning, historical context and the interpretation of the project. The posters had to showcase the relationship to the two Christs created by Michelangelo and then The Third Christ created by Pablo Damian Cristi.

Posters designed by Kaitlin O’Connor and Krystina Kara were selected and published on Pablo Cristi Damian’s social media and website and displayed across London Underground stations.

Engaging with young minds, receptive to the evolving world, working on a project that embodies infinite depth, connection with the renaissance, symbolic interpretation, generational significance, and more, all guided by the expertise of a contemporary sculptor like Pablo Damián Cristi, was truly enlightening. Heartfelt thanks to UAL for their trust and unwavering support.
