Sound and Music
In these facilities, Sound and Music students will be able to develop work across recording, composition, sound design, mixing and immersive audio production. Facilities include:
- Dolby Atmos and Ambisonics
- Multichannel and surround-sound monitoring
- Composition and performance studios
- Foley recording
- Analogue mixing and sound processing
Expert technicians will be on hand to support your projects across sound arts, music production, live performance and post-production.

Sound Arts
Explore recording, composition, sound design and audio production using:
- Digital audio workstations
- Hardware synthesizers
- MIDI equipment
- Specialist production software
- Bookable Mac workstations
A specialist synthesis workbench supports experimentation with electronic sound. Technical workshops and one-to-one guidance are available for taught, independent and collaborative projects.
Music Production
Record, mix and produce music in analogue and digital studios with dedicated control rooms and live rooms. These facilities support:
- Multitrack recording
- Analogue and digital mixing
- Surround-sound mixing
- Electronic music production
- Composition and post-production
You’ll have access to analogue mixing consoles, digital control surfaces, synthesizers and specialist microphones, with support from expert technicians.
