Without Form Space

At London College of Communication, we believe that the arts can – and must – respond to the climate and ecological emergency: not only through our practice, but through the ways in which we exhibit and celebrate our work.

Without Form Space is an online exhibition space for LCC students to explore producing online exhibitions through collaboration.

Developed in collaboration with leading design agency OPX Studio, developers Mallard & Claret and a number of emerging creatives from LCC our new digital exhibitions space offers new innovative, accessible and sustainable approaches to the showcasing of student project with scope to continually evolve.

Underpinned by 10 core principles of a central Design Manifesto, Without Form Space delivers a rich cultural experience with low environmental impact through features which encourage users to feel more educated about their browsing decisions while developing more mindful digital habits.

Each exhibition can show up to 14 individual students and participants will have an individual profile page championing their creative process and project outcome.

We’ve used small digital moments that give control back to the user […and prompt them] to think about how digital sites can be creative and less impactful on the planet - something that both OPX Studio and LCC are conscious of.

— OPX Studio
The fact that the site without content is so small (under 500kb) offers a real ‘wow’ moment - that we’ve been able to create something within the digital space that really works, and is also so climate conscious.
