The Journalism department offers resources across three dedicated areas.

Newsroom

LCC's broadcast, print and online newsroom offers a space equipped with industry standard software and hardware.

The technical team helps students to develop skills across many digital and print production areas including:

  • Wordpress CMS
  • Podcasting
  • Video and stills
  • Cameras and mobile journalism
  • Audio recorders
  • Tools to engage with social media
  • Online publishing

Media Lab

In this studio space, you'll have access to a range of television resources including:

  • Lighting rig
  • HD cameras
  • Green screen capabilities
  • Tricaster for live editing and broadcasting

Audio Studios

There are a number of audio studios that can be used for editing, pre-production and post-production of A/V content. You will have the tools and support you need to advance in all aspects of multi-platform journalism.

The Digital Space

The Digital Space is an open-plan, creative IT hub with 80 computers set up with specialist software for specific subject areas.
