What women want: writing for and about women

Episode 4

Host Tim Ogu is joined by industry guests Zing Tsjeng, Lynn Enright and Charlie Craggs to explore their experiences of writing within the media industries.

From sourcing inspiration from both personal and collective experiences to creating work underpinned by activism and advocacy, they discuss how their creative journeys have both created and found their own spaces to be heard.

About the speakers

  • Zing Tsjeng is a journalist, podcaster and current Editor-in-Chief of Vice and Vice UK. Her book series, ‘Forgotten Women’, aims to rediscover, retell and reinstate the lives of over 190 significant women throughout history.
  • Journalist Lynn Enright has written for publications such as Elle, The Irish Times and the Evening Standard. Contributing Editor for Grazia UK, her 2019 book ‘Vagina: A Re-education' explores myths and misinformation to empower readers about their bodies.
  • Charlie Craggs is an award-winning activist, author and media personality. Founder of the Nail Transphobia campaign, Charlie has also worked with BBC3 and BBC Sounds, and authored the 2017 book, ‘To My Trans Sisters’. Charlie graduated from London College of Fashion, UAL.
  • Tim Ogu is a multidisciplinary visual artist and creative director who uses text, film and photography to explore themes around narrative and identity. Tim is a Media and Cultural Studies graduate of London College of Communication.
