Superarts Academy - Film Making

As part of LCC Talent Works, graduates of BA (Hons) Film Practice at London College of Communication produced a short film showcasing the work of Superarts Academy.

Superarts Academy of Performing Arts is more than a dancing school – it’s an important part of the community and a place for children and young people to be creative, express themselves and keep fit in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Superarts wanted to showcase this wellbeing and health impact by creating a film that featured children and their families explaining the difference Superarts Academy had made to their lives.

BA (Hons) Film Practice graduates Shaneika Johnson-Simms and Raphael Boamah-Asare – who together run film studio Asare Simms – developed, shot and edited a short film to tell this story. You can watch the video below.

This project was part of LCC Talent Works, a programme to give recent LCC graduates paid freelance jobs with social enterprises, charities and community groups. It helps our graduates make their first step in a creative career, while supporting social organisations who can’t access the high quality design and communications talent they need to grow.
