Biography

Zans Gurskis is fascinated with game design and development. His background in graphics design, arts and video games programming gives him a unique advantage where he is able to seamlessly combine art and technology to create immersive experiences.

Zans has been teaching and mentoring since 2014. During his career he has taught at several universities including: University College London (UCL), University West London (UWL) and University of the Arts London (UAL).

Currently he teaches at London College of Communication, UAL as a lecturer in Immersion and Interactive Design. He works closely with games design and virtual reality courses, teaching students how to craft a digital experience in Unity. Additionally, he runs short summer courses on games design.

His teaching is highly practical, with a combination of theory – that allows students to make informative design decisions. He is a strong believer that a good understanding of fundamentals is essential.

On the course he covers a variety of topics including: programming, game design, colour theory, shaders, which allow students to gain holistic knowledge in the subject.

Prior to teaching he worked as a game designer/programmer at Glitchers and Zaubug.
